Over the past decade Vuselela has worked with a variety of international partners, local media organisations and NGOs to address the issues facing the youth of South Africa.
Our international partners include the European Journalism Centre (EJC), Free Press Unlimited (FPU), Wadada News for Kids, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Open Society Foundation (OSF) and the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA).
On a local level, we have close ties with most of the community television and radio stations in South Africa, as well as with the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), for whom we produce a daily education show and a youth magazine series, both of which have a strong social media presence. We also provide educational and youth news content for DStv, a Sub-Saharan African direct broadcast satellite service.
Vuselela, through its ‘sister’ company, the EISH-Team, implements a range of projects for the South African Department of Education. It has a wealth of experience in producing youth supplements for all the major South African news publishers and also provides digital youth content for Vodacom, the country’s leading mobile network provider.
On the ground, Vuselela has worked closely with loveLife, a South African NGO specialising in youth leadership programmes, to explore youth-relevant issues and empower young people to make informed choices, find solutions to the challenges they face, and lead healthy and productive lives.
